Legami – Italian for “links” – is a trio for improvised music formed by Anaïs del Sordo (IT/FR) and Célestine de Williencourt (FR) on vocals and Anna Grenzner (ES/AT) on cello. Their music brings together influences from jazz, contemporary music as well as Eastern European and world music. The group draws inspiration from nature’s forms and from literature to structure and explore their live performances. Their creative process is characterised by a strong sense of collaboration between individual voices and identities. The members of the trio met at various major improvisation events in Europe, including the Mixtur festival (Barcelona, 2021), the Météo festival (Mulhouse, 2022) and Joëlle Léandre’s workshop (Paris, 2022). In April 2023, the musicians embarked on a week-long residency in Magrin (France) to develop a creation based on sounds inspired by nature and organic processes, then developed during a second residency in October in Paris on the theme of “roots”. They are currently working on their next performance for the Coalescence concert series from the graz-based LaKT Ensemble (Graz, Austria, 30th June 2025).

In April 2023 we undertook a one-week residency in Magrin (France) where we focused on collective music creation basing on nature-inspired sounds and organic processes. The week included a few days of research, a recording day and a concert. The audios “Oaes supaei”, “Dots and drops” and “Making bonds” are some of the recordings done during that period.

In October 2023 we developed in Paris our project roots, where we searched for inspiration in the ways and structures in which trees get anchored into the ground to imagine possible musical structures and relations between ourselves. At the same time, roots alludes to our different musical and cultural origins (contemporary/classical, jazz, world music, modal music…) which come together to create a common voice.
